Our Mission

Our mission is to answer the following question for our exploration and development clients:  "What seismic pattern best separates good wells from bad wells, in a zone of interest for a particular 3D seismic survey?"


Daniel R. Cook, Founder of Seismic Insight Inc., graduated with a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California at Berkeley.  Dan completed his postdoctoral work in neuroscience at the University of California at San Diego and then developed powerful mathematical algorithms to analyze wave phenomenon.

He has since engineered the software to analyze seismic data used by oil and gas companies to improve their predictive capabilities.  Seismic Insight now has partners in Colorado, Texas, and Canada who utilize this exploration technology to increase their drilling success rate.


Layne Beard, President and CEO, earned his bachelors degree in Accounting from Weber State University. Having worked in the finance and accounting industries for over twelve years, he has been part of several Fortune 500 companies in various management roles. Layne excels at financial forecasting, project managing, streamlining accounting processes, and optimizing financial returns. He is continuously seeks to improve the quality of our drilling prospects, and the speed at which we lease acreage and drill wells.
